Who We Are

The Tuc Behind TucTucs

Tucker is the dog who started it all. As a foster puppy raised through Autism Dog Services (ADS), he joined our home with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a future full of purpose. While helping him grow into a service dog, we began creating simple, nutritious treats made with the same care we put into his training — and without knowing it, TucTucs was born.

Tucker has since completed his advanced training and is now waiting to be matched with the perfect family he’ll one day support. Though he’s moved forward in his journey, he remains the spirit of our brand. His curiosity, joy, and resilience continue to guide everything we create, from our single-ingredient recipes to our commitment to sustainability.

You’ll still see Tucker throughout TucTucs — in photos, in our story, and in the heart behind every bag. He will forever be “the Tuc” behind TucTucs, and the reason this mission means so much to us.

Meet The Team

The people and pups behind TucTucs

Rachel

Rachel

Owner & Founder

I'm Rachel, founder of TucTucs. After 10+ years in the pet industry and raising service dogs with Autism Dog Services — including Tucker, our mascot — I created TucTucs to bring high-quality, eco-friendly treats to pets across Canada. My dogs are my daily inspiration and the heart behind everything we make.

Paul

Paul

The Husband

Paul is the true MVP of TucTucs. From building trade-show booths to chopping meat, bagging product, and being lovingly dragged to every event, he somehow does it all without complaint… well, almost without complaint. He’s the steady hand behind the chaos, and TucTucs truly wouldn’t be the same without him.

Kyah

Kyah

Head of Treat Security

Kyah proudly leads our Treat Factory Security team. She keeps watch over every batch, making sure TucTucs treats stay safe, sealed, and fully accounted for at all times. With her sharp instincts and no-nonsense attitude, she maintains strict inventory control — and absolutely nothing slips past her, not even a single bite.

Lily

Lily

Chief Taste Tester & Quality Assurance

In the test kitchen, Lily brings professional-level enthusiasm to every new batch that emerges from the freeze-dryers. Each treat is rigorously “Lab tested” and approved to guarantee the perfect blend of flavour, crunch, and tail-wagging satisfaction. If it passes her standards, we know your pets will love them too.

Eddie

Eddie

People Magnet in Training

Eddie brings the charm to every show or event he attends. With his calm sweetness and irresistible puppy eyes, he has a natural talent for drawing people into the booth and making instant friends. Whether he’s soaking up gentle pets or quietly watching the crowd, he loves meeting every TucTucs fan who stops by to say hello.

Harbour

Harbour

Intern of Shenanigans

Harbour is the newest member of the TucTucs crew. He's always eager to be part of whatever’s happening, and is quick to invent his own “tasks” — usually involving stolen slippers or items tucked into his bed. He loves climbing onto bins to make sure no treats are left out and keeps us laughing with his constant shenanigans.

THE TREAT FACTORY

Our Facility

Every TucTucs treat begins in our small-batch facility in Brantford, Ontario, where we prepare each ingredient by hand and craft every batch with intention. Unlike large-scale operations, our process is deliberately slow and personal — we see, trim, and prepare every piece before it enters our freeze dryers, ensuring only the highest-quality cuts are used.

By working in smaller runs, we maintain exceptional control over quality, safety, and consistency. Proteins are kept separate to avoid cross-contamination, ingredients are hand-chopped for uniformity, and every tray is carefully monitored throughout the freeze-drying cycle.

This hands-on approach lets us preserve natural nutrients, minimize waste, and stay true to what matters most: creating treats we would proudly feed to our own pets — and yours.

WHERE IT ALL BEGINS

Our Sourcing

We believe the best treats start with the best ingredients. That’s why we partner with ethical Canadian farms and fisheries, choosing clean, high-quality proteins — never scraps, fillers, or by-products. Each ingredient is carefully evaluated for its nutritional value, lean profile, and benefits for pets with allergies or sensitivities.

While many of our proteins come from local suppliers, some species are sourced from overseas to ensure access to cleaner waters, responsible harvesting practices, and consistent traceability — especially when it comes to our fish. No matter where an ingredient originates, it is selected with intention, transparency, and your pet’s health at the forefront.

By sourcing responsibly, we’re able to create treats that are naturally nutrient-rich, ethically harvested, and truly loved by pets across Canada.

ONLY THE BEST FOR OUR PLANET

Our Packaging Promise

From the beginning, we knew TucTucs needed to be about more than great treats — it had to reflect care for both pets and the planet. That’s why every one of our bags is made from BPI-certified compostable materials. Unlike vague terms like “biodegradable” or “eco-friendly,” BPI certification means our packaging has been independently tested to break down safely in industrial composting facilities, leaving no harmful residue behind.

By choosing compostable packaging, we’re able to significantly reduce waste and lower our environmental pawprint, without ever compromising the freshness or safety of the treats inside. It’s one more way we stay committed to transparency, sustainability, and creating a brand you can trust — for your pet, and for the future we all share.

SUPPORTING PETS, PEOPLE AND OUR COMMUNITY

Giving Back

Giving back is woven into everything we do at TucTucs. While Autism Dog Services (ADS) will always hold a special place in our hearts, our commitment to supporting pets and people extends far beyond one organization. We regularly partner with local shelters and rescue groups through donations, fundraisers, and community events, helping animals in need receive care, enrichment, and second chances.

Supporting our community also means uplifting other small, values-driven businesses. Whether we’re collaborating on eco-friendly initiatives, participating in local markets, or contributing products to small-business fundraisers, we believe in growing together and strengthening the pet community as a whole.

From service dog programs, to rescue organizations, to fellow small Canadian brands making a positive impact — giving back isn’t just something we do. It’s a core part of who we are and what TucTucs stands for.
